FTMO Swing EA — MetaTrader 5 trading robot (MQL5)
An automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 written in MQL5, built to pass the FTMO Challenge and trade a funded account. Strategy: London Open Breakout on EURUSD and USDCHF (H1) with strict risk control aligned to prop-firm rules.
What was built:
- Modular architecture: 12 MQL5 modules (signal, risk, filters, execution, logging)
- Strategy: London open breakout + trend/pullback entries, partial close and break-even
- FTMO risk management: daily drawdown ≤5%, overall ≤10%, lot sizing by % risk, EquityMonitor halts trading near limits
- Session (London/NY) and volatility (ATR, spread) filters
- Robust order handling via trade classes, server error handling, request retries
- Multi-pair presets (.set): EURUSD, USDCHF, GBPUSD, USDJPY, XAUUSD
- VPS deployment with autostart 24/5, logging and monitoring
Validation: backtest 2022–2025 (~400 trades), walk-forward (forward result beats in-sample — no overfitting), Monte Carlo (1000 iterations): 0% probability of loss, only 0.7% probability of >10% drawdown, worst case ≤7.68%.
Role: full-cycle development — architecture, trading logic, risk management, optimization and VPS deployment.
